Aston Villa fullback Luke Young hopes his recent form has caught the eye of England boss Fabio Capello.
"Being at Villa with some of the other English lads means [England] is going to get thrown in every now and then but, at the minute, I'm happy to be playing for Villa," said Young, who predicts Emile Heskey, who is expected to make his debut tonight, can "thrive" at Villa following his signing from Wigan.
"I got a little chance with England. I felt I did OK but obviously didn't do enough. Whether I am good enough, it is not for me to be saying."
Young's current form represents quite a turnaround from earlier in the season, when he was dropped.
"Coming out of the side was probably the best thing for me at the time and a bit of a kick up the a***," he added. "I had a meeting with the manager [O'Neill] and he said 'I need you to do this and that' and I agreed. I said, 'I know I'm not performing like I did last season' and it was down to me to get the performances right."
