Villa fullback Warnock: Given knows he made right decision leaving Man City

Aston Villa fullback Stephen Warnock feels Shay Given can be happy with his decision to quit Manchester City.

The out-of-favour left-back believes Given’s desire to prove critics wrong after a spell on the sidelines at Manchester City is an example to all players.

“It’s the pride of a footballer to come back and show how good he is and prove people wrong,” said Warnock in the Birmingham Mail.

“That’s one of he great things about football.

“If your face fits that’s great. Shay’s face didn’t fit at Manchester City at the time but he’s come here and his face fits and we’re reaping the rewards of a great buy in the summer.”
