Villa fullback Bertrand: Norwich hiding was always coming

Aston Villa fullback Ryan Bertrand was delighted with the manner of their victory over Norwich City.

Bertrand, on-loan from Chelsea, reckons Villa's emphatic victory over Norwich had been coming.

"I think you've seen in the game where we've perhaps not been so fortunate, the draw at Cardiff and the two losses against West Ham and Newcastle," he told the Birmingham Mail.

"At Cardiff, there were some world class saves from their keeper, at West Ham it was just constant pressure on their goal and at Newcastle, in the first half, if we'd have had the rub of the green we'd have been able to go in at least 1-0 up at half-time.

"There's been a quiet confidence, but with the result and the way the team played the other day against Norwich it all came to the front.

"A win does wonders for the club. We're in an okay position now so we have to keep focused and keep it going for as long as we can.

"We've had a mixed bag of results but it's important that we've been able to get a good win just before the break and hopefully we can take that into the next game."
