Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is under huge pressure to keep hold of skipper Ron Vlaar.
The Daily Express says Manchester United, Tottenham and Southampton have stepped up their interest in the Dutchman, now inside the final year of his Villa deal.
Reports claim the Premier League trio remain keen on signing the Dutch international, with Saints boss Ronald Koeman openly revealing his admiration for his fellow countryman.
He said that he'd "really like" to have him at St Mary's.
Though a seemingly innocuous comment, Koeman may have sparked a transfer flurry for Vlaar's services - much to the displeasure of Villa fans.
