Aston Villa fans are turning on goal-shy Christian Benteke.
Benteke's substitution during the stalemate with Sunderland was greeted by ironic cheers from home fans.
Asked about the jeers, manager Paul Lambert replied: "I never heard that.
"You're in your own kind of zone, so I never heard anything like that.
"Okay, he's not scored and he's having a little bit of a barren spell as all players do. I've never seen a player alive that hasn't been through a barren spell.
"That's football, it builds up your character when you go through those little spells and he'll come through it."
