Aston Villa have had a massive £15 million offer for David Bentley rejected by Blackburn Rovers.
Villa appeared in pole position to sign the 23-year-old after opening discussions with his advisers, but talks stalled last night.
Manchester City, Spurs and Everton are also interested.
