Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar was proud to captain the team in victory over Swansea City.
Vlaar was named as skipper for Saturday's clash after manager Paul Lambert decided to give Darren Bent a break from the role to concentrate on scoring goals.
"Of course, being made Villa captain makes me very proud and I'm very happy with that," said Vlaar to Villa's website.
"I think I know what to expect from myself and I want to do a good job.
"The manager said before kick-off that I was captain on Saturday and that was a very positive signal from the manager to me."
