Aston Villa defender Martin Laursen is delighted to see former teammate Liam Ridgewell doing so well at derby rivals Birmingham City.

"He is a good player," Laursen said. "I was a bit surprised to see he was now captain because he is completely new and so young, but obviously he is a leader, a good defender and very dangerous. He has a good eye for goal. To go somewhere else in the Premiership and play was the best thing for him."
