Villa defender Beye makes Doncaster loan switch

Championship Doncaster have signed Aston Villa full-back Habib Beye on a three-month loan deal. Senegal international Beye is the latest high-profile player to join bottom of the Championship table strugglers on a short-term deal as part of a radical new transfer policy spearheaded by agent Willie McKay.

The 34-year-old has endured a tough time since moving to Villa Park in 2009 from Newcastle, making only nine league appearances under three managers for the midlands club.

Beye's solitary game for Alex McLeish's side this campaign came as a substitute in the Carling Cup win over Hereford and his contract expires in the summer.
