Recent reports suggest that Aston Villa have been in contact with Rafael Benitez about their managerial vacancy. Villa are manager less after Gerard Houllier departed due to health issues and it could be a fellow former Liverpool boss who steps into his role.

Benitez left Anfield to take the job at Inter Milan last summer but only lasted at the Italian club until December.
