Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has been assured of his future at Villa Park.
The Daily Star says Villa's hierarchy accept Lambert's policy of rebuilding the club around young stars will take time and the learning curve will be bumpy.
After going through five managers in two years they believe a period of stability is essential.
Former Norwich boss Lambert spent £27m on seven new players in the summer and has transfer targets lined up again for the next few weeks.
But he has been told to concentrate on quality rather than quantity and find the right additions who will add leadership to the young squad.
