Aston Villa chairman Randy Lerner won't alter his transfer plans, despite last year's economic downturn.
The Sunday Mirror says the billionaire Villa owner gave a rare show of his ruthless side this week when he sacked Browns coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Phil Savage for failing to reach the end-of-season NFL play-offs.
The 46-year-old has been back in the States sorting out the problems, and that sparked fears that he could cut back on cash for Martin O'Neill to invest in the January transfer window here.
But sources in the States say that Lerner, excited by Villa's bid to break up the big four's monopoly of the Champions League places, has given assurances that his commitment to the club is total.
