Aston Villa will not consider any offer from Tottenham for winger Ashley Young.
The Daily Star says Villa's mega-rich American owner Randy Lerner will personally block any bid to lure away the club's prize asset.
Lerner is currently reeling from his club's disastrous start to the season and the loss of manager Martin O'Neill.
He's managed to keep the fans onside despite suffering a week which has seen Villa crash out of Europe and get smashed 6-0 by Newcastle.
Add to that the fact that England midfielder James Milner was flogged to Manchester City and Lerner is well aware losing Young would be a PR disaster.
Spurs boss Redknapp is a big admirer of Young and would ask the club's money men to do everything in their power to land his man.
But he'll be banging his head against a brick wall, with Lerner acutely aware that Young's departure could be the straw that broke the camel's back with dissenting supporters.
The winger has just been offered a new four-year contract which would make him the highest-paid player at the club on around £75,000-a-week.
