Villa captain Petrov: Cup final biggest game of career
Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov says today's Carling Cup final against Manchester United is the biggest game of his club career.
Villa's captain enjoyed numerous Scottish League and Cup during his time with Celtic as well as reaching the 2003 UEFA Cup final with the Glasgow giants under Martin O'Neill's management.
But he believes leading Villa at Wembley will be bigger than anything he has previously experienced.
"This is a massive game for the players, the fans, the whole club," he told Villa's website.
"We're not going there just to be passengers. We want to win.
"I know what it's like to lose in a final. When Celtic lost to Porto in Seville, people said it must have been nice just to be there. But it wasn't the same as winning. We will put everything into winning this final."
