Villa boss Sherwood challenges his players not to go back into "hole"

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has challenged his players to not go back into their shell.

Villa go to Manchester United today.

Sherwood said: "When I took over this team it was in a hole.

"But we have crawled out the hole and it's important they make sure they don't fall into it again. It's horrible when you lose and it's impossible for me not to take the defeats heavy.

"Every game we have lost is by the odd goal or from a late winner or a late mistake. It hurts but it's still a defeat.

"For me it's not about taking the defeat so hard and realising that you have to bounce back quickly.

"We must dust ourselves down, not forget about the defeats, but learn from it and bounce back."
