Villa boss O'Neill wants Megson revenge

Martin O'Neill admits he is gunning for revenge over Gary Megson on Sunday after the new Bolton boss inflicted Aston Villa's lowest point of the season by masterminding their Carling Cup exit.

Megson was in charge of the Leicester side that dumped Villa out of the Carling Cup last month in a shock 1-0 win at Villa Park in the third round of the competition.

O'Neill is still ruing his decision to field a weakened side in the tie but is grateful for a swift opportunity to avenge the embarrassing reverse following Megson's surprise move to the Reebok.

"I was very disappointed and it was the lowest moment of the season because you are actually out of a competition despite having home advantage," admitted O'Neill.

"We were looking to progress and as it turns out now Leicester City will go to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea instead of ourselves.

"We changed the side around and I'd probably make less changes next time."
