Martin O'Neill has slammed players who lead with both feet.
"I have no idea why players go in two footed, when people say 'I got some of the ball' it's a nonsense!
"Your impetus is carrying you through. You could maim someone, break someone's leg and put them out of the game for good! It's crazy.
"Even one-footed tackles can be dangerous if the studs are up.
"I don't think that's very brave - it's reckless! I obviously wouldn't be happy with our players being on the end of it - or doing it either obviously.
"The referees are getting it right. I don't know why it's crept in.
"It seems to have happened over the past few weeks but it's been hovering around for a while.
"If there's a clampdown or a mandate from high above, I've got to say I agree with it totally."
