Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill admits defender Wilfred Bouma will be rewarded with a new contract.

"Wilfred is another player who needs to know about his future and we'll talk to every single one of the boys," said O'Neill. "I can only judge by what I've seen since I've been here but he's played a lot of games.

"I don't know what it was like for him beforehand - I think he had a few injury problems.

"Now he says himself he's over those and enjoying it and the good news for Freddie is he's had a fairly lengthy run in the side and so far those niggling injuries that affected him before have left him alone."
