Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill insists Stiliyan Petrov is not under any extra pressure to perform.
"I am hoping everyone is under pressure as we try to build, and I hope players use that pressure to try to stay in the team," said O'Neill.
"For example, I left Luke Moore on the bench because he was struggling for confidence and needed a goal.
"He finally got one yesterday. It was probably the sort of goal he might have looked at to be the start of things.
"All players go through these things, so I was pleased he scored. I don't think Stiliyan is under any more pressure than anyone else. I'm hoping that's the case. Players get picked on merit."
