Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill admits they've no chance of competing with Manchester City in the transfer market.

He said: "If we are in for the same player, there is no way we can compete with Manchester City. Definitely not. As a player in the market, Man City have made things change."

After seeing City splash out £12 million for Chelsea left-back Wayne Bridge, O'Neill added: "If the opening day is anything to go by, well maybe anything will go in this window. That is not the way that Mr Lerner wants to run this football club."
