Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is delighted to see Mick McCarthy's Wolves win promotion back to the Premier League.

"I couldn't be more pleased for him," he said.

"He's a very fine manager. He has proven that and I think he's done remarkably well.

"Wolves are a really big football club and deserve to be there.

"I've watched them this season, mainly on television to be perfectly honest, and Tuesday night's result has put Birmingham in a really good position as well.

'So we could be pretty strong in the Midlands next year."
