Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill admits he's keen to buy English.
O'Neill already has ELEVEN Englishmen in his squad, including four current Under-21s and three who featured at the U21 European Championships but who are now too old.
O'Neill's stance is in contrast to the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea who believe the foreign route is the way to go.
The Northern Irishman has spent more than £18m on young English stars Ashley Young and Nigel Reo-Coker.
O'Neill said: "In an ideal world I suppose I would prefer to buy British players - but they are expensive.
"Mind you, foreign players are dear right now too!
"I'm not thinking 'England' first, I am thinking about Aston Villa. But we have got a lot of the younger England players here and with them being together it will help them progress on to the full senior side.
"I think we have a good sound base of homegrown players and it is something I'd like to add to. If the English talent is around, then I will certainly be going for it."
