Villa boss O'Neill: Guzan would walk into most teams

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has no doubt that goalkeeper Brad Guzan is Premiership class. The US have qualified for next summer's World Cup in South Africa, but Guzan faces a battle with Everton stopper Tim Howard for the No.1 jersey.

"My own view is that he is good enough to play in quite a number of Premier League teams," said O'Neill. "Now that America have qualified for the World Cup he will be keen to put a bit of competition in for that goalkeeping spot.''

Ashley Young echoed his manager's sentiments by paying tribute to Villa's goalkeeping understudy.

"He is brilliant for us and showed how good he was.

"With the penalty saves, he's like that in training - he can't save mine but he does his fair share! But he was tremendous."
