Villa boss O'Neill doesn't want to sell his locals

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill insists he didn't want to lose any of his young players.

O'Neill this week let Luke Moore join West Brom with a view to a £3.5m deal.

That follows the sale of three more youth-team products Steven Davis, Liam Ridgewell and Gary Cahill.

O'Neill said: "There's not been a player I wanted to force out.

"But we have raised £15m from selling these players and most have sell-on clauses.

"It gets to the stage where I have to do the best for the football club."
