Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is confident of signing Chivas USA goalkeeper Brad Guzan at the end of the season.
Villa's initial move to sign Guzan, 23, in a £2million deal last month collapsed when he failed to secure a work permit as he had not played enough international matches.
O'Neill said: "He has played matches for America and deserves to get a work permit.
"I'm not doing these things on a whim and our next chance to get him is in the summer."
