Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has praised Nigel Reo-Coker following the midfielder's power-packed performance in last Saturday's 6-0 thrashing of Derby County.

O'Neill added: "I thought his second-half performance on Saturday was outstanding - he was really terrific. He got challenges in and then showed a turn of pace to drive us forward.

"He can drive us forward 15, 20, 25, 30 yards with the ball and as you're travelling things open up for you.

"Now it's just a matter of just taking care of the final pass and making sure that's delivered. But overall I couldn't be more pleased with him."
