Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill says he'll be scouting on the continent tonight.

O'Neill has hinted he will be in Germany or France tonight where a full programme of Ligue 1 and five Bundesliga matches take place.

Asked whether he was in Holland watching Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen last weekend he said: "I can confirm that I was abroad watching football matches but I will confirm nothing else.

''I will be abroad on Wednesday too."
