Villa boss McLeish wants louder dressing room

Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish wants a louder dressing room.

Eck says the claret and blue troops can be a bit quiet at times - and could do with more aggression if the going gets tough.

He told Villa's website: "I think there's good camaraderie.

"You don't want the players to be in love with each other though. I think there's got to be a little bit of fist-clenching and sometimes snarling at each other, just to shake each other up.

"I've said that we're a wee bit quiet in that respect.

"But the team spirit is tremendous and it's one of the things that I've always insisted upon trying to build at every club I've been at.

"Having been at a successful Aberdeen club for 18 years, the one thing that we always tried to do was make sure the dressing room was a happy one.

"We would integrate everybody, welcome new players, that kind of thing so team spirit is very important to the success of any team."
