Villa boss McLeish upset with players snubbing away fans
Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish admits his players were out of order for snubbing away fans after defeat to Newcastle United.
McLeish, Barry Bannan, Darren Bent and Shay Given were among the few who clapped the supporters who made the gruelling 400-mile round trip in freezing conditions.
“Even if they go over and get abused, they should still do it.
“They need to show a bit of humility. I will have a word with them on that.”Asked his opinion of the Villa players who trudged down the tunnel without acknowledging their fans, McLeish replied to the Birmingham Mail: “They shouldn’t be doing that.
