Villa boss McLeish hails impact of Keane since arrival

Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish admits their loan deal for LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane has been a big success.

In his three starts, he has already scored two goals and set up two — as well as forging a potent partnership up front with Darren Bent.

Boss McLeish, whose team visit Newcastle tomorrow, said: "I don't think there's any doubt that he has had an impact, despite his short spell here.

"And it's not only his banter. At times, Robbie will have a moan.

"His movement on the pitch has inspired a few of the youngsters. He's checking, he's spinning, he's playing a one-two."
