Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert admits they had no enquiries for Christian Benteke in January.

Lambert concedes Benteke is struggling to return to his best form.

"If Christian was right on his game I'm pretty sure there would have been clubs knocking down the door for him in January.

"He's had a loss of form but he's only human and we're working hard to get him right.

"We have to get him through it. Every player goes through a dip in form but it's more noticeable with him because of how he performed in his first season."
