Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams is a target for Aston Villa.

The Sun says Paul Lambert s ready to get his chequebook out and boost his Aston Villa side with a surprise bid for Welsh wizard Williams.

Lambert has hardly spent a penny in the last year since owner Randy Lerner put the club up for sale but he will be given some cash to strengthen his squad.

Williams' future at Palace is in doubt after a spell on-loan with Ipswich Town this season.
