Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert says Matt Lowton could be fit for their clash with Chelsea this weekend after being forced off during victory at Norwich City.
Lowton is hopeful of shaking off the injury, originally sustained in the thrashing of Sunderland, in time for Saturday's home match against Chelsea.
Up until Saturday, Lowton had played every minute of Villa's Premier League and Capital One Cup campaign with his only rest coming in the FA Cup third-round win over Ipswich.
"He's just hurt his thigh," confirmed Lambert.
"He hurt his thigh on Monday and he felt it on Saturday.
"It was a little risk, but I don't think it's too bad."
