Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert believes Manchester United have never replaced their golden generation.
Ryan Giggs (24 years), Paul Scholes (21), Gary Neville (19), Nicky Butt (12), David Beckham (10) and Phil Neville (10) are etched in Old Trafford folklore.
Lambert said: "Will you see the nucleus of all those guys again? I'm not so sure, especially with a lot of them coming through the ranks the way they did.
"You do get cycles in football. What's amazing about all that is the longevity of it - 20 odd years and then all of a sudden it's like a massive hit for them."
He added: "It's like a double hit because with them came a generation of United fans that know nothing other than winning.
"They don't know any differently. A generation hasn't been used to losing football matches."
