Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert says their preseason camp in Germany will be all about hard work.

Villa will play three friendly matches against German opposition during a trip when the emphasis will be on football, fitness and little else.

"Germany will be extremely tough," said Lambert. "Especially if the weather gets the way it could go and there will be three difficult games out there.

"The priority for us is to work. It is not a resort where you think the lads go to enjoy themselves.

"It is to work really and if they do that and work really hard and keep it going then they'll come back to England and they've got games here which will stand them in good stead.
