Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is backing Christian Benteke to build on last season's debut success.
Benteke's goals saved Villa from relegation last season.
Lambert said: "I think he's just getting better.
"He's grown in confidence, which is understandable. He's a big, big athlete and a top footballer. Looking at him since he came back from his break, he's been excellent."
Lambert added: "At this moment in time, looking at him in training and in the friendlies, I would say he's not lost his goalscoring touch.
"He's ready for it. I'm not going to put levels of expectation on him. He has his own standards."
