Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is excited by what he's seeing from new signings Christian Benteke and Ashley Westwood.

Lambert believes all of the newcomers can flourish if they continue to show their ability and give supporters encouragement.

"You want the players to thrive on it," said Lambert.

"It is a great opportunity, and a great stage of their careers, to kick on and if they do that collectively, they will be fine.

"I don't think many of them will have experienced that atmosphere.

"We saw the impact Christian had but Ashley also did well. I think when he came on he didn't give the ball away and we still have others to come back."
