Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is delighted with Christian Benteke's goalscoring form.
In victory over Walsall, Benteke scored his fourth goal in three pre-season appearances and Lambert is not surprised the Belgian international is being warmly embraced by the claret and blue faithful.
"I don't think it was an issue, I really don't," said Lambert.
"I think that's water under the bridge now, the most important thing is Christian is starting where he left off. The crowd absolutely love him which for me is the most important thing.
"He's doing great here.
"If he gets four goals in the first two games of the season then I think he'll be doing well! He's not played the full 90 minutes yet, but you can tell he's got goals in him, that's for sure."
