Villa boss Lambert encouraged by Sylla debut

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert was pleased with Yacouba Sylla's debut for their 3-3 draw at Everton.

Lambert's initial impressions were good although he accepts Sylla will improve as the days and weeks progress and as he gets up to speed with the country and the league.

He told Villa's website: "He did all right, he did really fine considering he's only just come here.

"I think he's got loads of energy which you need and I thought he did really fine. That's the aim - him trying to make his mark here. We want to get him to learn the language as well, which is very important for him.

"He's at a club where the expectancy level is a lot different to the one he's just left. He only trained on Friday. But once he adapts, he will do great for us."
