Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is delighted with the youth team's progress in the NextGen Series.

Villa are into the semifinals after victory over Olympiakos last night.

Lambert told the Birmingham Mail: "The competition is good because you're getting European experience, rather than playing British teams all the time.

"It's a different type of game, so it's good from that point of view.

"I've been to most of the games here and the reserve games, so I try to see what's going on."
