Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert was pleased with their friendly win over Burton.
There were impressive debuts for Karim El Ahmadi, Matt Lowton and Brett Holman.
Lambert told Villa's website: "I am delighted to win, first and foremost. I thought some of the football we played was great, especially considering it was our first game after a week's training.
"It's not easy playing any team, especially in pre-season because you're not fully into the swing of things. But I was pleased with the effort and application of the team - and some of the football.
"To win any game of football is really difficult. Credit to Burton they gave it everything they had and played well and got the lead.
"But credit to my own team. They came back strongly to win the game."
On his trio of debutants, he continued: "It was a great goal from Brett, it really was.
"I thought Matty never broke sweat. He was excellent. You wouldn't think he's just come out of League One. His performance was really pleasing. He will do great for us.
"And I thought Karim, everyone can see he's got quality in the middle of the park."
