Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert was pleased with Darren Bent's double in their draw with Werder Bremen.

Captain for the evening Bent scored his first goals of the new campaign as Villa completed pre-season with a 3-3 draw against the Bundesliga outfit.

"I think that is goalscorers - they like to live on that and I'm pretty sure this will do him the world of good," Lambert told Villa's website.

"They are invaluable to you - these sort of players who can get a goal out of nothing and that is what happened. He has made a living out of that."
