Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert says a deal for Elche midfielder Carlos Sanchez is not over the line.
Reports have suggested Elche's Colombia midfielder is set to be the next player to join, but Lambert was giving nothing away on that front at his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
"The situation is that he is still not our player," Lambert said.
"We'll have to see what happens over the next few days or so. There's not really much else to say on that.
"You're never quite sure until someone signs on the dotted line and is in the building."
