Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is keen for midfielder Shaun Maloney to stay beyond tonight's transfer deadline.

O'Neill said: "Shaun carried on from where he left off against Fulham at Wrexham and was excellent for us. He made things happen in the first half and scored a great goal.

"With a bit of luck he will stay put with us. We've had no offer for him, as things stand, and I hope he stays here."
