Gerard Houllier reckons Liverpool have not been able to focus on the pitch because of the Anfield power struggle.
The former Kop boss, now in charge of Aston Villa, has every sympathy for boss Roy Hodgson.
He said: "I feel for Roy. It's tough leading a team that can't think about what's going on. You cannot get focus with so many events happening."
