Villa boss Houllier likens Heskey to Chelsea star Drogba

Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier has likened Emile Heskey to Chelsea star Didier Drogba.

Heskey, 32, has been reborn at Villa since his former Liverpool boss took over.

And Houllier said: "Drogba is a hard-working centre-forward - but we have one who can do the same. Really!

"Emile is strong, quick, powerful. It's mainly a matter of faith in himself.

"Drogba is probably the best centre-forward in the world. He can score by himself, be on the end of the cross, head the ball, take free-kicks and he works very hard for the team.

"Emile has got some attributes, he just doesn't use them.

"Emile's strong but he won't smash people out of the way like Drogba.

"In terms of skill, he does things in training you'd be amazed to see but I think Emile forgets sometimes how good he can be.

"With strikers in England, we're not very patient. If a striker misses a couple of chances, that can destroy his confidence.

"That probably happened to Emile."
