Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier will have to pass some medical tests before he is given the job heading into next season.
The French tactician suffered a heart problem about a month ago which forced him away from Villa duties and recent reports suggest that he will have to have some tests assessed before club officials install him as the boss again.
Villa's medical staff will study the test results over the next couple of days before a decision on the ex-Liverpool boss' future is made and we are likely to know more on Wednesday.
Gary McAllister has taken over since Houllier's illness but the club is believed to be keen to ensure who will be at the helm at Villa Park next term by going over his tests to ascertain whether he is healthy enough to remain as manager.
