Villa boss hits back at Sorensen claims

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has dismissed Thomas Sorensen's claims that he tried to 'destroy' the goalkeeper's Aston Villa career. The 32 year old former Sunderland keeper, now at Stoke City, claimed that Blackburn, Manchester City and Middlesbrough had all shown an interest in a deal and that O'Neill did not want him to join another top-flight club, despite his lack of opportunities at Villa Park.

"It's a complete fabrication," O'Neill told the club's official website.

"No one from the clubs mentioned contacted me at all about Thomas Sorensen."
