Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish insists Barry Bannan is a key part of his plans.

The Scotland midfielder has been linked with Manchester United since the start of the season.

But McLeish plans new contract talks with Bannan and said: "We are very pleased with Barry and want to keep him happy here."
