Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is confident Scott Carson can handle the hype surrounding his showdown with Portsmouth's Niko Kranjcar today.
O'Neill, whose men host Portsmouth today, said: "It's funny the way the fates have thrown this fixture up so soon after the England game - but Scott has come through a couple of matches now.
"Middlesbrough two weeks ago would have been pretty daunting for him but our fans were brilliant and helped him.
"Peter Shilton made a famous mistake when he started. Look at the career he went on to have."
